This verse comes from a thankful mother who for a long time was not able to conceive children. Hannah was her name and we are blessed to have a record of her prayer of thanksgiving. After weaning, Samuel, he was brought back to Eli to be raised as a prophet. Hannah’s prayer has always been a blessing to me. It is amazing to find the people of the Old Testament knowing how to pray. Just because they had all the sacrifices and rituals does not mean that they lacked a relationship with God. Certainly if they wanted one, they could have one.
Not one thing in Scripture was recorded bad about Samuel the Prophet of Israel. That does not mean he did not sin. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
